The updates to HUS Acamedic’s virtual desktops have been completed. Earlier in the fall, Windows 10 virtual desktops were updated to Windows 11. Now Linux Ubuntu 20.04 is also updated to Linux Ubuntu 24.04.
If the user has not saved their data correctly according to the HUS Acamedic instructions on the research network drive of the user environment, it is possible that the work done by the user that is stored in the temp folder has disappeared with the update. We can make it possible for customer service to return the data. Please contact acamedic@hus.fi address if necessary.
We are receiving feedback on the new virtual desktops. Some software could not be upgraded to the new virtual desktops due to their EOL (End-Of-Life) and have therefore been discontinued.
